Mirror Rig

Hinged mirrors, sliding on a frame, built in order to shoot a video of a reflection excluding the camera. Also functions as a true mirror—rather than inverting your face, it reveals how your face appears to others. A reflection that does not reverse but reveals also has the potential to hide.

Asteroids in Space

A space rock is a primal and enduring form with the potential to interact with other bodies. This is an asteroid field in a hallway.

Mirrors on a Curved Wall

Common full-length mirrors installed along a curved wall fracture the space in the reflection. Observing moving objects is like watching a stop motion animation.

Flicker Fusion Floor Fan

A foot pedal activates the floor-mounted ceiling fan, but the bulbs spin rather than the blades. The TV shows the bulbs spinning, and as the speed increases, they appear to reverse direction. This is the flicker fusion effect.

Glass Case

The pane of glass broke while I was cutting out the hole. It’s taped together now. Initially the act was part of a narrative about breaking into something, but it became a comical effort to preserve the structure while breaking it. The reflections offer interesting effects and considerations.
